Night Stars Viewing Tour
Experience the magic of Lake Superior after dark with our Night Stars Viewing Tour, a peaceful, guided paddle along the shoreline under the night sky.
This tour stays close to shore, exploring the clear, shallow waters near the beach where our underwater lights illuminate fish and aquatic life below your kayak. As we glide across the calm surface, you will witness the quiet beauty of Lake Superior at night.
We carefully choose our launch location based on two important factors. First, we look for the clearest sky with the most interesting astronomical events, whether that is a meteor shower, full moon, or a perfect view of the stars. More importantly, we only operate when we have glass calm water conditions. This means the location may vary depending on the weather and wind.
Although we most often launch from Washburn, Wisconsin, we may also launch from other quiet and beautiful spots on the peninsula, including:
-
Cornucopia, Wisconsin
-
Bayfield, Wisconsin
-
Bayview, Wisconsin, just south of Bayfield, where the Onion River and the Sioux River flow into Lake Superior
-
Barksdale, Wisconsin, where Bono Creek enters the lake
We always send out the final launch location by email two days before your tour. Then we follow up with a text message the day before to make sure you have received and confirmed the exact meeting spot.
