The Mainland Sea Caves Tour is a favorite among visitors to the Apostle Islands. When lake conditions are favorable. Meyers Beach tours get canceled about 50% of the time. If wind conditions make the Meyers Beach sea caves unsafe, we reserve the right to reroute your trip to a safer alternate location or give your booking to another outfitter doing the same tour that day at the same time.
With a total time commitment of just 3.5 hours, this tour takes you through some of the largest sea caves in the first half of the mainland cave system. It includes paddling and safety instruction, followed by 2 to 2.5 hours on the water.

This tour typically runs in tandem kayaks, offering a smooth and stable experience—but don’t worry, we can easily accommodate solo paddlers and groups with an odd number of people. Families with younger or lighter children (under 14 years old or 115 lbs) have the option to use triple kayaks. In this case, two adult-sized paddlers (14+ years and at least 115 lbs) are needed to safely support one child riding in the center seat. All riders must be at least 5 years old and weigh 40 lbs or more.
Safety is always our priority. If lake conditions make it unsafe to access the mainland sea caves, we may adjust the route and take you to a safer, equally scenic alternative location.
*5-13 yr old can paddle in the middle of a triple kayak.**
**Must be less than 275 lbs and less than 6’8 with hip width less than 20″ to properly fit in the gear for this tour.**
