Time / Distance: 2 HR
Launch Location: Herbster, Wi
Passengers must be between 100 pounds and 350 pounds
Our open-water ice cave boat tours are 6 passengers or less per boat. Our boats are small enough to get us into the mainland sea caves on the West side of the Bayfield Peninsula at Romans Point. We can only go in when the conditions are good. If conditions are not good at the sea caves on the West side, the tour will be canceled. The boat we use is a 14-person Bennington Pontoon Boat with no more than 7 ppl on at any time. The tour stays near shore and only launches in calm conditions (1 ft or less).
Every person on the tour will be required to dress warm enough to handle 10 degree temps. This tour stays close to shore and does not make any open water crossings. Boating on Lakes Superior in November is dangerous, so we only go when it is calm ( less than 0.5 ft wave) and forecasted to stay calm the entire time we are on tour.
This tour has a high chance of cancelation, so instead of signing up for a particular day we have you sign up for a month. We will notify people signed up for a particular month, 48 hrs before we think the conditions are going to be good. If you can’t make it out in the month you choose, you can reschedule to a different month or you can take a 90% refund.
IF YOUR TOUR IS CANCELED BY US FOR ANY REASON, INCLUDING WEATHER, YOU WILL RECEIVE A 100% REFUND. IF YOU CANCEL 48 HOURS OR MORE BEFORE THE TOUR YOU WILL GET A 90% REFUND. IF YOU ARE A NO-SHOW OR YOU CANCEL ON THE DAY OF THE TOUR, YOU WILL RECEIVE NO REFUND.
This tour explores the open-water ice caves and sea stacks on the West side of the Bayfield Peninsula. It covers 4 miles and lasts 1 hour. If the wind is too strong we will cancel and issue a 100% refund.
