This tour goes through a beautiful marsh ecosystem full of wildlife and intersting plants and if the weather allows we will see one sea cave on the tour. If the weather does not allow, we don’t go to the sea cave, but we always get the eco tour and a sunset. Bark Bay Slough State Natural Area is a A 552-acre shore fen and open bog with sand spit, lagoon, springs and wetlands along a bay between two rocky headlands of the Lake Superior coast by Herbster, Wi. It is an incredibly diverse ecosystem. You can find a rare Wisconsin carnivorous plant called the pitcher plant growing next to wild roses that rest atop a beaver dam. Or perhaps watch a Bald Eagle swoop down and pull a northern pike out of a patch of wapato. Blueberry patches, beach combing and lots of interesting plants and animals make Bark Bay Estuary a must do paddle for any nature lover. This tour is a beautiful place to sit back and relax and soak in your surroundings on a very laid back paddle on perfectly calm water.
We also include beach combing on this tour
