The Meyer’s Beach Single Kayak Rental requires that you can transport your own gear to Meyers Beach. There is one cave outside the AINL boundary at Spirit Point ( The South point at Meyers Beach). You can choose to paddle at the caves inside the park or the caves outside the park, it is up to you where you take the kayak. You can choose to paddle in from outside the park or you can transport your kayak to Meyers Beach, it is up to you where you decide to launch and land. This rental is only suggested for experienced paddlers. The rental comes with a free roof rack/pad but you will need to be able to get the kayaks to Meyers Beach yourself, we do not deliver them to Meyers Beach.
We have kayak trailers available for rent if the rack pads do not suffice. 2 kayak trailer $50, 4 kayak trailer $75 and 8 kayak trailer $100.
We only allow this rental on days with excellent conditions between July 1st and September 8th. If you signed up and we are not allowing our rentals to launch that day, you try another day or take a refund.
Only 50% of days have excellent conditions, if the waves are over 1 ft at Meyers Beach you can expect cancelation. Click here for a live link to the waves at Meyers Beach
We suggest launching shortly before the large groups of outfitters. The busiest time of day is 10 AM, if you launch before then you will beat most of the morning traffic. We suggest being on the water between 10 AM and 4 PM. Kayaks must be returned by 5 PM.
Below we have provided a map of the location of all the sea caves at Meyers Beach as a well as a video going through the sea caves on a calm day. If you are being cautious, it is wise to turn around at Skull cave. If you decide to go past Skull Cave there are very few safe landing spots for the next mile and only 3 or 4 more caves. If you have any doubt in your mind, don’t go past Skull Cave.
